Oakland

Bay Area Comedy Scene Rockin'

Back in 1993 I won a humorous speech competition in LA and some people told me I should do stand-up comedy. I called Drew Carey who I knew from the days he started on stage at the Cleveland Comedy Club in 1978. He told me to get out of LA and get as much stage time as possible. So I did that just that- I moved to San Francisco and got up onstage every night for years. It's a great comedy town and, as the San Jose Mercury News reports, the Bay Area is in a comedy boom.
